A walkthrough on how to stake heroes, equip items, and fight bosses.

Tip: We’re getting to the exciting part. Put on your wizard robes 🧙♂️. You will find tips scattered throughout this article. These tips help you understand the game better.
There are a total of 10 bosses in Season 1. Each week, 1 boss will be revealed. To maximise your chance in defeating the boss, you may observe the boss’s attributes and equip your hero with the right items. The attributes of the bosses can be found on homepage of Meta & Magic’s website. Only past and current bosses will have their attributes revealed. Future bosses have their attributes obfuscated 🔮. These attributes include Health Points (HP), Physical Damage (ATK), Magical Damage (MGK), Elemental Damage 💧🔥💨⚡🌱, Physical Penetration (ATK PEN), Physical Resistance (ATK RES), Magical Penetration (MGK PEN), and Magical Resistance (MGK RES).
Level III Boss, Ethereptile
Example: if you were to fight a fire-element 🔥 boss that has magical resistance, it is wiser to equip your hero with a water-element 💧 attack item with magical penetration. Conversely, if you were to fight a water-element boss, it is wiser to equip a water-element armour so your hero sustains zero damage.
You may obtain these items at the Meta & Magic’s Item collection on OpenSea. Get them ahead of others because the correct items for that week’s boss fight will likely increase in floor price.

Once you are sure you have the correct items for that week’s boss fight, head over to the fight page by clicking on the blue fight button! You may also click “Fight” found on the navigation bar of Meta & Magic’s website.
Once at the fight page, make sure to have your wallet connected ✅. Click on the fight button and the fight modal should open up.

The fight modal allows you to stake 1 hero and up to 5 items to fight the boss. You may choose not to stake any items, but you must minimally stake 1 hero to participate in the boss fight.
The heroes and items you own will automatically appear in the fight modal. Once you are certain of the hero and item combination to stake and fight with, go ahead and click the blue fight button! 🥊
Tip: Overkilling bosses by staking multiple items increases your chance of winning token airdrops.
A fight animation will play. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the animation! If you lose the fight, a blue button will appear. Clicking it will return you back home. If you win the fight, the animation will show that you have defeated the boss. A blue claim button will then appear. Click on the button to claim the boss drop item.

If you lose the boss fight 😢, do not be dejected. You can always equip a new set of items and fight again. There are no limits to how many times you can fight. Alternatively, wait for the new boss fight next week and try again. Perhaps your hero or items are better suited for the next boss fight.
Tip: Study the boss’s attributes. Did you lose the fight because your hero died? Or did you lose the fight because the boss was not defeated? Know that either scenario will make you lose the fight.
