📄 The Magic Paper

Every good game has a story. Here’s ours.

Tip: Sit back, relax, and read over a Piña colada 🍹. You will find tips scattered throughout this article. These tips help you understand the game better.

💎 Why Meta & Magic?

Rationale

We wanted to create an NFT game that was playable for everyone, would somehow give back to the community, and also didn’t live on hype. We experienced the profile pic era 🙊, where any profile pic collection would mint out in seconds. Flippers would mass mint and sell them right before reveal, and we watch the price crash after reveal. We also lived through the gamification era 🧙‍♂️ that came after, where games would get immense attention, and to later see the price of the tokens crash after the hype has died.

So we thought, why don’t we create a game where none of this would happen? 🤭 We went about studying the trends and found that most hype on NFT collections would die within 10 weeks. We also noticed that in-game tokens are essentially pegged to the hype of the game.

Based on our findings, we will need to create a game that:

  1. Would somehow give back to the community
  2. Doesn’t live on hype
  3. Has a realistic game shelf life
  4. No in-game tokens 💩

That means we would need to create a game that has an expected shelf life - that’s interesting... Okay, so no in game tokens for us. We think we can fix that by maybe giving out real tokens in the game - you know, ETH and USDT.
